Sonic Warfare is the first and longest running dubstep orientated clubnight in Amsterdam and launched her first night in December 2006 at The Melkweg under the leadership of Juha van ‘t Zelfde. Skream, Digital Mistykz (Mala & Coki) and Loefah were the first one to hit Amsterdam, with around that time, still pretty much unknown sound. After 2 years of steady progression with London, Bristolian and Glaswegian names Like plastician, Cyrus, Distance, Hijak, Silkie & Quest, Kromestar, Appleblim, Joker, RSD, Rustie, Fox Gut Datta to name a few, Lockdown was given the opportunity to start curating the Sonic Warfare nights. Nights such as Anti Social and Leeds based clubnight SubDub in collaboration with Sonic Warfare followed and over the last 3 and a half years Sonic Warfare has had over 100 diffirent artist as her guest. Lockdown was also able to bring back the mighty King Shiloh Soundsystem back to the Melkweg after six years of absence, but aiming on another angle then the usual dub & Reggae shows they’d been doing. Sonic Warfare has also been returning on a regular base to yearly festivals like 5DaysOff and Amsterdam Dance Event. Also in 2010 Sonic Warfare will put together a special program for ADE and for 5DaysOff in March 2011. Recently Sonic Warfare also started hosting a monthly radioshow at RBMA Sound Gallery.
