AKKACHAR
The third mix for Lockdown has arrived and it’s by nobody else than Rwina imprint boss, Akkachar. A solid 30 minute mix with nothing else than fresh dubs and recently released tunes. Akkachar was able to establish himself, and his Rwina label, with the huge A Milli EP by Starkey late 2008, which was followed up by releases from Playdoe, the Scotland-based Taz Buckfaster, another Starkey, Eprom with his Humaniod EP and the lastest, but not the least, SRC with the mighty Gion Out EP. With forthcoming releases by Rachet, Swindle, Terror Danjah and Doshy, all scheduled later this year, we can say that Akkachar has steadily been building on a label that can be considered as the number one Dutch label of its kind. Presk, a producer hailing from Utrecht comes trough with the second Lockdown mixtape, where housy vibes are setting the tone. Presk recently joined the Planet KL agency, has releases forthcoming on various UK labels, and got playtime at Mary Anne Hobbs BBC 1Extra show with his Kriss Kross remix, Jump. With his vibrant live sets we can easily say it short, this guy is one to watch. Catch Presk live during Off Centre Festival on the 29th of May at the Melkweg.
