Lockdown is an organization which was founded during the summer of 2007 by Ryan Cookson (UK) and his Dutch counterpart Volcmar Lammers. Driven by their exceptional love for bass-heavy music, they lauched their first night in early 2008 at the Amsterdam based Flexbar. After numerous editions at the Flexbar they decided to head off on their own to explore unknown locations that the city had to offer. These locations ranged from squats, old factories, a boat and old storage bunkers to name but a few.
Accompanied by the tirth member, Ernst Mertens, Lockdown has grown from strength to strength through gaining solid reputation and collaborating with the likes of King Shiloh sound system (real dub-reggae sound system) based in Holland, and with organizations such as Viral Radio, Melkweg and Trouw.

Currently, Lockdown is going strong with the Sonic Warfare series that take place on a bi-monthly basis at the Melkweg in Amsterdam. Most recently they have started up an agency, representing Aardvarck and Cinnaman and will take on a new night called Colors at Trouw Amsterdam together with Cinnaman (Viral Radio), aiming on UK Funky, Garage, House and Dubstep.

Over the past years Lockdown has worked with a big variety of artists such as; Joker, Loefah, Appleblim, Plastician, Kromestar, Chef, Silkie & Quest, Jamie Vex’d and many others.
